SoundCore Model Zero and Model Zero Plus - Two New Speakers from Anker

In the last month, Anker has been continuously expanded its Bluetooth speaker line-up and now they have an offering in almost every category.

In the last days, we got two new speakers from Anker under the SoundCore brand: the new SoundCore Model Zero and the SoundCore Model Zero+.

These two are the largest speakers in the line-up and while their other speakers were mainly portable outdoor devices, the new models are intended to cover the bookshelf speaker category.

From the design point of view, they have a really similar size and shape to the Harman Kardon Onyx Studio 5.

So we can say they are direct competitors but the SoundCore speakers come with a more budget-friendly price.

While from its name you would think that the Model Zero+ is the larger device, actually it’s not the case.

Both models have the same dimensions, although the Zero+ looks a bit more premium with the brushed aluminum inserts.

Also in terms of audio hardware, the models are the same, they got two 63mm woofers, two 19 mm tweeter and two Passive Radiators with 60W output power.

So regarding the sound quality, you should not expect too much difference.

However, besides the Bluetooth, the Zero+ can be also connected via Wi-Fi and it is a smart speaker with Google Assistant support.

It looks that the Model Zero+ is more intended as a home device and the Model Zero is for someone who wants something more portable.

This is because according to the official specification the Model Zero provides 10 hours of playtime using from battery, in contrast, the five hours of the Model Zero+ and in addition it got an IPX5 water protection, so it is splash-proof.

The Model Zero is already available for $200 and the Model Zero+ will be available in the following weeks.
