The Smart Sonos One is here and it even likes Alexa

Sonos introduced its new speaker the Sonos One which is actually an upgraded version of the existing Sonos Play:1.

Good news for the audiophiles that the big audio companies started to licensing smart technology and bringing a lot of new smart speakers to the market.

This means that from now these speakers are not just smart but also deliver great sound.

The Sonos One is a good example of this.

Design-wise it is almost identical to the popular Sonos Play:1, however, it has a built-in voice recognition and Alexa support.

According to the manufacturer even new features will be coming to the speaker, the Google Assistant and AirPlay 2 support will arrive in 2018.

The Sonos speakers are known for their excellent sound quality and their famous multiroom ecosystem.

Which means you can connect the Sonos speakers into a wireless network and control them via a mobile app.

With the Sonos One, this is extended with voice control which makes the system even more powerful.

The One looks almost the same as the Play:1 only the top panel was redesigned and the physical keys have been replaced by touch-sensitive controls.

Under the hood, the sound system did not change compared to the Play:1, so you can expect the same excellent sound.

There is an array of six microphones built into the device which ensures it can always hear you.

The Sonos One provides pretty much the same features like the Amazon Echo or Echo Dot however it does not have full Alexa support for Spotify yet.

Sonos promises to have Alexa voice control for Spotify by December 21st.

At the date of this article (05.11.2017), the Sonos One was available for $199.
