Anker SoundCore Mini 2 - The new waterproof pocket-sized Anker

In the last weeks, Anker started to upgrade its existing Bluetooth speaker line-up and even further extended it with several new speakers like the Anker SoundCore Flare and Flare+.

I am always glad to see new Anker speakers coming since generally, they are good value speakers with a reasonable price tag.

Just like the Anker SoundCore 2 which is one of the best value speakers on the market in my opinion.

Now its smaller brother the pocket-sized Anker SoundCore Mini got a new updated version.

The Anker SoundCore Mini 2 follows the same design language as the former model with its metal body and circular shape.

The look of the two models are really similar, however, you can spot some changes like the Mini 2 is slightly taller and all of the control buttons were moved to the lower part of the device.

Also, the ports are now covered by a waterproof flap.

This is because unlike the former model, the mini 2 is water protected, which is one of the biggest improvements of the Mini 2.

It got IPX7 water protection which means it is completely waterproof, it can be submerged into 1-meter-deep water for 30 minutes.

We can also expect improvements in terms of sound quality since the 5W driver of the former model was replaced and the Mini 2 features a 6W driver.

From now, it is also possible to connect two devices together for a stereo sound.

However, unfortunately, some useful features like the built-in FM radio and the SD card reader were removed from the speaker.

The battery life remained the same, according to the manufacturer we can expect 15 hours continuous playtime.

At the date of this article, the Anker SoundCore Mini 2 can be bought for $35.
