JBL Clip 3 - JBL has unveiled its updated outdoor speaker

JBL has unveiled the new JBL Clip 3 which is the successor of its popular ultra-portable speaker the Clip 2.

The Clip 2 is a really decent speaker in its category, it also won by me the king of the portability title, so I am excited to see how JBL has upgraded it.

The main changes were related to the design and the speaker got a new fresh look.

JBL Clip 3 - First Overview

While the size and the plug-like shape remained, the music control buttons were moved from the side of the speaker to the front.

The carabiner of the speaker was completely redesigned and similarly to the original JBL Clip it is now built-into the speaker. 

So, unfortunately, it is not replaceable anymore which was a big benefit of the Clip 2.

You could replace it if it gets damaged or if you preferred a different size or shape.

On the positive end, the new clip is made from metal and looks sturdy.

It also frames the whole speaker making it more durable and shockproof.

The inside of the clip got a rubber lining so it does not cause scratches and provides safer fixing on slippery surfaces.

JBL has left the built-in audio cable of the predecessor and the Clip 3 features an audio jack input port instead of it.

The new JBL Clip 3 is said to have a bigger sound and the battery life was improved from 8 hours to 10 hours.

As the former model, it got an IPX7 water protection, which means it is completely waterproof, it can be submerged into 1-meter-deep water for 30 minutes.

Unfortunately, the speaker will not support the JBL Connect+ technology, so it cannot be connected together with other JBL models.

JBL Clip 3 Price, Availability

It comes in 10 different color options with matching colored carabiners: Midnight Black, Ocean Blue, Fiesta Red, River Teal, Stone Grey, Dusty Pink, Steel White, Forest Green, Mustard Yellow and Desert Sand.

The JBL Clip 3 will be making its way to stores in the spring of 2018 and will be available for $59.95.
